Sorting Line Items Within the Quantity Take-off Section

In Ediphi, when adding line items from the Quantity Take-off section within the Units tab, you might notice that the line items are sorted in what might be considered a "random" order (as in, not alphabetically), however they are sorted based on the Order number that’s assigned to them.

Notice that the line items above are not sorted alphabetically.

If you want to change the order in which your line items are displayed in this section, then you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Line Items tab within the project in question, the under the Filters section select Source, and then QTO. (This will show you only the line items you have added from the Quantity Take-off section)
Make sure you have added line items within the Quantity Take-off section in order to see this Source option.
  1. You can then use the Order column to sort from top or bottom, and in this column you can change or edit the Order number for the line items you want to sort.
You can click on the Order header to sort from top to bottom or vice versa.

The platform automatically sorts the line items within the Quantity Take-off section from smaller to larger, so if you wanted to have a line item show first on that view, the Order number needs to be smaller than the rest of the line items. On the contrary, if you wanted a line item to show last, the Order number needs to be larger than the rest of the line items.
