Grouping
Found in the top right corner of the Detailed Summary and Schedule of Values tabs within your estimate, the Grouping feature allows you to customize how line items are displayed by classifying them according to your company’s sorting criteria, such as Use Groups, Alternates, Systems, MasterFormat, UniFormat, Bid Packages, and more.
While the Schedule of Values tab allows you to sort by one Grouping at a time, the Detailed Summary tab will allow up to four Groupings (1 main group + 3 subgroups), enabling a more comprehensive and detailed summary analysis. For example:
Say you want to view the line items of your Detailed Summary initially by Use Groups, and then within these Use Groups, you want to see them sorted by Bid Package and MasterFormat, respectively. All you need to do is select the Groupings in the order you want to see them, and they'll be automatically grouped:

Note: It's worth noting that the platform automatically preserves this grouping view for you. Therefore, even if you navigate away from the page or switch to a different project, your estimate will retain its grouping.
For more information on configuring your views, saving them, and even sharing them with colleagues within your project, see our article on Saved Views.
Pro Tip: Just want to have one Grouping in the Detailed Summary and no Subgroups? Simply click into the “Grouped By” box, and click on the trashcan icon next to the subgrouping you’d like to remove.
