Filtering and Column Management in Line Items
In Ediphi, you have the ability to filter, select line items, and manage columns in your estimate to focus on specific items, view combined totals of said line items, or display only those that meet certain criteria. In this article, we’ll discuss the different ways to filter, select line items and manage columns.

Filtering Line Items
Filtering Line Items allows you to focus in on specific criteria, for example Source, Color, Use Groups, UniFormat, MasterFormat, etc. To filter line items:
- Navigate to the far right of the screen where you will find vertical Filters tab. Click on Filters.
- This filters panel will display all the available filter options. Note the search bar at the top, as well as under each filter category.

- To remove the filters selected, open the Filters tab once more, remove any text fields, and/or check the boxes that need to be shown again:

Pro Tip: On the far left side of the grid is the Color column. If you’d like to filter line items by corresponding color, you’ll want to first designate a color for certain line items in that Column. For example, if all Finishes are set as blue, you can filter for the color blue, and only those line items will appear in the view.
At this time, the available colors are limited to a default set and cannot be modified or added to.

Selecting Line Items
Selecting several line items at once allows you to view the combined total of specific items. To achieve this:
- Click on the line item of your choice, then hold down the Shift button on your keyboard. You can then scroll the page and click into the cells either above or below the previously selected line item to highlight multiple line items at once.

- Once you have selected the line items, you will see in the bottom right corner a "Selected" section. This will show you the amount of line items selected, the sum of its totals, and the unit of measurement (if they are different, it will instead show "Multiple UM").

Reordering Line Items
You can customize the order of your line items in both the Detailed Summary and Line items views. This can be done by editing the Order Number for a Line item in the Order Number column, or sorting line items by a column of your choice.
Edit the Order Number of a Line Item
- Under the Order column, double-click inside the cell you wish to update the order number for, type in the new number and press Enter.
- You'll notice the line item has moved to its new location in the list based on the number you chose.

Note: The Order column lists line items in numerical order. You may add as many decimal places as you wish to further sort your line items.
Sort Line Items by a particular Column
- Click on any column header to sort all line items by that column type. You can reverse the order by clicking on the column header again, and one additional click will return the grid to the standard sort.

Managing Columns
You can hide and rearrange any of the columns in your line item spreadsheet to further focus on specific criteria. To do so:
Hiding Columns
- Click on the columns tab to the far right-hand side.
- In this panel, uncheck any columns you do not want shown.

Rearranging Columns
There are two ways you can rearrange columns. You can either drag and drop the columns in the view by grabbing the column headers and dragging them into your desired position. Or inside of the column tab to the far right-hand side, click and hold down on the bar icon next to the column names, and drag those up or down into the position you need them in.
