Using Marks within the Rooms tab

In Ediphi, finishes assigned to Rooms are called Keys. These Keys are labeled with a Mark to abbreviate your Finish line items, allowing you to better view them within the Finishes tab.

What is a Mark?

A Mark starts as a 4-character abbreviated code of a Key added to the Rooms tab; obtained typically from the Key Description.

How are Marks used within Ediphi?

Keys that are already added through the Keys Configuration section will show their Mark when adding them to a Room, so that you can easily differentiate them when selecting them under the Finishes tab. We usually recommend adding all the necessary Keys under Keys Configuration first, so that you know exactly what you’re selecting and can edit Marks as needed.

How does the platform create Marks?

The platform will always choose the first 4 letters from the Description of the finish (just letters, no spaces or special characters). For example, if you had the Concrete Sealer finish, the platform will create with a CONC Mark given those are the first 4 letters in the Description. Other examples:

  • 3-Form Panels would be 3FOR
  • FRP Panels would be FRPP
  • Touch-up would be TOUC

Whenever you add a Key to your Finishes, pay attention to the first 4 letters of the Description, and that will be your Mark.

Pro Tip: You always can edit the Mark to whatever you'd prefer under the Keys Configuration (the list is sorted alphanumerically, so you can easily locate your Key by the first letter/number in its description). Please note, that the longer you make the Mark, the harder it will be to compare within the Finish section, so we recommend keeping it short.

Blue: Good. Red: Not so good.
