Updated Rooms Tab

In Ediphi’s Estimates module, we’ve enhanced the way you interact with Rooms. While maintaining the same core functionality, we’ve introduced new features—such as Room Groups—along with a refreshed user interface to improve usability. The new Rooms tab is designed to streamline your workflow and enhance your overall experience. Below, we’ve outlined the key updates and improvements.

New Features

The new Rooms update is designed to transform how you work with Rooms, making your workflow smoother and more efficient. Here’s how these improvements will enhance your day-to-day experience:

  • Rooms have been redesigned to enhance how you work and navigate the page. Previously, sections were arranged vertically, connecting to other sections down the page. Now, we've shifted to a horizontal workflow, making Rooms easier to read and manage while aligning with Ediphi’s overall design and user experience.

  • Along with the new look, we’ve introduced powerful new capabilities. You can now bulk-add values across the page, making data entry faster and more efficient. Simply right-click a cell, select Fill Across Row, and choose either Current Room Group or All Room Groups.

  • Rooms are now organized into Room Groups, making it easier to manage large data sets and view costs by grouping. Each project includes a default set of Room Groups, but Admin users can create additional ones by navigating to Admin > Room Groups. For more details, check out our Using Rooms Detailed Summary article.

  • Finish line items are now integrated into the Line Items section, allowing you to view the total cost of a room in one place. This section now serves as the central hub for both Finish and Room line items, streamlining your workflow.

  • In terms of added usability, you now have the ability to reorder Rooms and Room Groups by a simple drag-and-drop motion. Additionally, to keep the screen more organized, you can collapse and expand Room Groups to focus on specific areas at one time. If you ever need to move rooms from one Room Group to another, you can do so in bulk to save time. This is very helpful for larger data sets.

  • We've made Rooms more intuitive by aligning its grid design with the rest of the Estimates module. By incorporating the usability improvements from features like the Estimates Detailed Summary, we’ve enhanced the Rooms Line Items section to provide a seamless experience. Now, it not only looks and feels like the estimate but also offers full customization for how you view your Rooms data.

User Interface Updates

The new Rooms update brings several visual changes. Here are some of the key items and tabs that have been updated:

  • We've combined Schedule and Key Configurations into a new Detailed Summary tab under Rooms.

  • Within Rooms Detailed Summary, there are now 2 main sections: Room Details and Line Items.

  • Key Configurations now lives under Finishes as Finish Key in the Room Details section.

  • When adding a room, the same modal will appear as before. However, you’ll now find a + Rooms button at the top for easier access.

  • As you assign Rooms to Room Groups, you'll notice improved organization. The Room Group name will appear above the rooms and separated into tabs. Both Room Groups and Rooms now feature an ellipsis icon for quick access to additional actions.

Note: Back calculations are not currently available in Rooms.
