Understanding the “Update Available” Prompt
In Ediphi, multiple users can work on the same estimate simultaneously. If changes have been made by another user—or by you in another open tab—you’ll see a blue Update Available button at the top of your screen. Clicking this will sync the estimate with the latest updates.
Because estimates in Ediphi are interconnected, changes made by one user can significantly impact others working on the same estimate. For instance, if one user is updating the Area Sheet while another modifies Use Groups, those changes could conflict. That’s where the Update Available button comes in—it allows you to pull in the latest updates so you're always working with the most current version of the estimate.
The Update Available button may appear in two scenarios: when another user makes changes to the same estimate or when you’ve made changes yourself in another open tab.
If you have an idle tab open—whether in another browser or in a different tab of the same browser—and return to it later, you’ll see the Update Available button. This appears because the tab was inactive and may be out of sync with the latest changes.
Note: You won’t see the Update Available button if you're working in a single active browser tab and no other users are editing the same estimate.
If the Update Available button appears while you're working on an estimate, we recommend clicking it as soon as possible to pull in the latest changes. However, if multiple estimators are working in the same area of the estimate, updating may overwrite any unsaved changes you've made since your last sync.
