Using Togal.AI External Takeoff Source in Ediphi’s Excel Add-in (Last Mile)
The Togal integration lets you bring measured quantities from your Togal.AI takeoffs straight into your Ediphi estimate, right from Ediphi's Excel Add-in (Last Mile). You sign in to Togal once, pick a project and drawing set, review the quantities in Excel, and submit them to your Ediphi estimate. No exporting, re-typing, or copy-pasting between tools.
When your Togal classifications are linked to your Unit Price Catalog (UPC), quantities arrive in your estimate with your WBS codes (Sort Fields) and default unit pricing already filled in. When the takeoff changes in Togal, you can refresh and update those same line items instead of creating duplicates.

Setting Up Your Togal Library
The integration works best when your Togal classifications are built from your Ediphi UPC. Each classification then carries a hidden Ediphi product ID. That ID tells Ediphi which UPC item a takeoff quantity belongs to, so imported line items come in with the right WBS codes (Sort Fields) and unit costs.
If you use the standard Ediphi UPC, unchanged:
Ask your Togal Account Team to add the Ediphi classification library to your Togal account. You can ask for it as a separate library so it doesn't mix with your existing Togal work.
If you've changed the standard UPC or use your own:
- Decide which UPC items you want to measure in Togal. Many items, like general conditions or allowances, aren't takeoff items and can be left out.
- Add those items to a blank Ediphi estimate, organized the way you want them to appear in Togal.
- Export the estimate to CSV.
- Send the CSV to your Togal Account Team, who will load it into Togal as your classification library.

Note: Ediphi product IDs are unique to each company's Ediphi account. A library built from the standard UPC, or from another company's UPC, won't link to items you've added or changed. When you add or change UPC items later, update the matching classifications in Togal too.
Completing a Takeoff in Togal
Before you can bring quantities into Ediphi, you'll need to run your takeoff in Togal.
- Open Togal, then open your project and your drawing set. Your library of classifications appears on the right, and your takeoff markup tools appear on the left.
- Set a scale on your drawing set. Do this before you run any takeoff, so your measured quantities are calculated correctly.
- In the classification list on the right, click the colored square icon next to the classification you want to measure.
- Move over to your drawing. When you see crosshairs, click once at each corner of the area you're measuring (a room, hallway, doorway, etc.).
- Press Enter on your keyboard. Togal calculates the quantity for that area.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each classification in your takeoff.

Connecting Togal to Ediphi
You'll need an Ediphi account with the Excel Add-in and a Togal.AI account.
- Open Excel and launch Ediphi’s Excel Add-in.
- Log in using your company’s Ediphi domain and your user credentials.
- Select your project, then your estimate.
- Go to External Takeoff Sources and choose Togal.AI
- Sign in with your Togal email and password (you only need to do this once).
- Choose a Togal project, then a drawing set.
- Click the Details dropdown to view the number of takeoff quantities (Togal calls these classifications) in the drawing set, and how many are new or updated compared to your estimate.

Pro Tip: You can open the Togal project directly in your browser to view or make any direct changes by clicking on the External Link icon.
Reviewing and Submitting Quantities
Nothing reaches your estimate until you click Submit to Estimate, so you can review everything first.
- On the Togal section of the add-in, click on the Details dropdown to uncover the takeoff details.
- Click Review to open a QTO Review worksheet, which shows one row per Togal classification, side by side with the matching estimate line item or UPC item.
- Check the action on each row:
- Add: new to the estimate. A new line item will be created.
- Update: already in the estimate, but the quantity has changed. The existing line item will be updated.
- Hide or delete any rows you don't want to send yet. You can choose which quantities to bring in and when.
- Click Submit to Estimate.
New line items come in with their WBS codes (Sort Fields) and default unit pricing from your UPC. Because they're connected to your UPC, you also get the rest of Ediphi's database benefits, like viewing historical pricing on any line item.

Note: A row marked "WARNING" means its Togal classification has no Ediphi product linked, the product ID can't be found, or the product's unit doesn't match the takeoff's. Fix it in Togal and refresh, or correct it on the sheet before submitting.
Updating Quantities
When your takeoff changes in Togal, you can bring those changes into your estimate without creating duplicate line items.
- Make your changes in Togal.
- In Ediphi's Excel Add-in, click the Refresh icon on the Togal section. This section updates to show how many quantities are new or updated.
- Click Review. For changed rows, the QTO Review worksheet shows the current quantity in Togal next to the current quantity in your estimate.
- Keep the rows you want to send, then click Submit to Estimate.
Ediphi remembers which Togal classification each line item came from, so re-importing the same takeoff updates those line items instead of adding new ones.

Pro Tip: Every line item created or updated from Togal has an audit trail showing who created or updated it, when, and what the quantity changed from and to.
What Transfers from Togal
Each Togal classification becomes one line item in your estimate, totaled across every page in the drawing set.

FAQs
- What do I need to use the Togal integration?
An Ediphi account with the Excel Add-in, and a Togal.AI account.
- Which rows get sent to my estimate?
Only rows with a quantity that are new or changed. Unchanged quantities are left alone, and nothing reaches your estimate until you click Submit to Estimate.
- What happens if I bring in a quantity that isn't linked to my UPC?
The review sheet flags it with a "WARNING". Without a linked UPC item, the line item won't come in with your WBS codes or unit pricing. Link the classification to an Ediphi product in Togal and refresh, or correct it on the sheet before submitting.
- Will re-importing a takeoff create duplicate line items?
No. Ediphi remembers which Togal classification each line item came from, so re-importing updates those line items instead.
- Does Ediphi store my Togal credentials?
No. You sign in directly with Togal, and the Add-in keeps only a Togal session on your computer. You can sign out at any time from the Togal card.
- Can I see what was submitted?
Yes. Each submission is tagged as a Togal import on the line items, and a hidden log sheet in the workbook records every submitted row.
