Duplicating an Estimate

Duplicating an estimate in Ediphi is a quick way to save time and effort, especially when starting a new project that’s similar to work you’ve done before. Instead of building an estimate from scratch, you can simply copy an existing one—either within the same project or to another active project in your account.

To duplicate an estimate:

  1. In the left-side panel, click the ellipsis menu (⋯) next to the estimate you want to duplicate, and select Duplicate.

  1. Choose whether to duplicate the estimate to the Current Project or another active project you are a member of, and edit the Estimate Name as needed (both required). You also have the option to assign an Estimate Due Date, and a Milestone (if applicable within the project the estimate is being duplicated to).

Note: If your destination project doesn’t have any milestones yet, you can create one right from here by clicking Create New Milestone within the Milestones dropdown. A modal will appear where you can create and assign the milestone to your estimate.

A Milestone is not required in order to duplicate an estimate. You can always click "Cancel Milestone" to go back.

  1. Once you've added all the information, click Save.

You’ll be taken directly to your newly duplicated estimate, ready for any adjustments or updates.

Note: If the estimate you’re duplicating is linked to a GCGR, a copy of that GCGR will also be created in the destination project to ensure data remains consistent.

Note: If your estimate or project uses custom Sort Fields or Sort Codes, these will transfer during duplication. The exact behavior depends on what’s available in the source and destination projects. For more details, check out our article on Cross-Project Estimate Duplication Logic (for Sort Fields).
